Small Birds Music and Movement

Music classes for children and caregivers

Chris offers music learning experiences through play. He typically brings a guitar (or small portable keyboard), his trusty accordion, and an assortment of folk songs, original tunes, circle games, fingerplays, and small percussion instruments. Chris doesn't use recordings in his classes. All the music is live. Everyone sings, moves in all kinds of ways, plays, jams, and generally has a good time. While all that's going on, Chris sneaks in concepts of pitch and rhythm, musical form, and a bit of solfege. Kids also build important ensemble skills (aka: social-emotional learning), and finish the session with minds and bodies thoroughly and joyfully exercised.

You can have a look at Chris's CV here.

Our entire family enjoys Chris Molla's CDs. His music is a delight for both children and parents - we wouldn't take a driving trip without him! The songs and melodies are infectious. With the playful words and strong rhythms, our children love to sing them out loud.” - Kate K.
